PREPARE for the FUTURE

OUR MISSION AT WISDOM CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is:
To break the cycle of poverty through Christian education for building a new generation who will lead with integrity.

In Zambia, elementary public schools are “free.” But the families must pays “fees.” Beginning in 8th grade, students in Zambia pay for their education.

These costs seem inconsequential to us, but are insurmountable to those in the slum. Consequently, many of them do not go to school. For those who can pay, the children have to walk long distances to get to a school.

At WCS, they do not pay fees. All of their education is free, plus they get a nutritious meal four days a week.

In 2012, the school had grades 1-4 with three teachers and two classrooms. The school now has levels K-8 (a new grade will be added every year). Grades K-7 are elementary school. Secondary school includes grades 8-12.

To embark on the secondary school, we built more classroom space, added more computers, a science lab with special equipment, and a Home Ec lab that includes two sewing machines. More equipment is needed in each of those areas.

Since partnering with WCS, all of the teachers are certified. The school now has 12 classrooms, a kitchen, and a chapel.

The children are learning English, math, science, social studies, computers, art, music, technical skills, the Bible, and life skills.

A high school education is now within reach for these children in the surrounding slum. In the country of Zambia, elementary school enrollment is 88% and enrollment in secondary school drops to 43%. These statics are much lower in rural and poverty areas. We are striving to change those numbers for the children who attend WCS.

LIVING WELL funds 100% of WCS and 100% of the funds designated for WCS go directly to the operation and development of the school. LIVING WELL does not deduct any administrative fees.

Your donation makes it possible to continue the education of these children!
