SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT

  • January 2012

WCS was one mud- block building with two classrooms when Ed and Donna first visited the school. The building had no electricity.

  • January 2012

The school only had a hang-dug well that didn’t have water during the dry season. When there was water, it was not clean.

  • January 2012

The only restroom facility was a hole in the ground with a stick fence for privacy.

  • 2018

WCS now has a kitchen, a chapel, four classroom buildings, and electricity. We built a concrete wall around the campus for security.

  • Water

We had a water well drilled. The well has clean water that is always available. The kitchen has plumbing for their sinks. Ample water is available for the students. People in the community are able to use the water to fill buckets that they take home.

  • Latrines

The school now has eight new latrines with concrete walls and septic tanks and hand washing stations.

  • 2020

The fourth classroom building was completed in 2020. The building includes two offices, a teachers’ planning room, and 5 classrooms.

  • We painted a mural on the building and built a playground for the younger kids.

A Zambian family donated playground equipment for the older children.

  • With the help of our mission team members and the on-site caretaker for the school, we have worked to enhance the beauty of the grounds. Zambia has a tropical climate where flowers, bushes, and trees thrive.

Our desire is to add more grass and trees, along with pathways. During the rainy season, the dirt areas becoming very muddy.
